From the conservative press and again .
The UN says it wants answers about reports that Israeli soldiers evacuated more than 100 Palestinians into a house which they then bombed.
The UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) cited reports of "extensive destruction and many deaths" in the area.
It said: "According to several testimonies, on January 4 Israeli foot soldiers evacuated approximately 110 Palestinians into a single residence house in Zeitoun (half of whom were children) warning them to stay indoors. Twenty-four hours later, Israeli forces shelled the home repeatedly, killing approximately 30."
Half of whom were children?! What justification could there ever be? Sounds like mass-murder to me. I guess this is how Israel "protects itself with wisdom and restraint" (and if you read that article, you might want to bear in mind a few of these statistics covering the times mentioned, and here again from the BBC, and remember Gaza is still an occupied area as recognised by the United Nations, with closed borders and crippling sanctions levelled against it, no matter what the article says). If you still can't quite understand, I am sure that the minister for foreign affairs, Stephen Smith, might be able to explain it to you along with Rudd's uncritical (that's the key word) support of Israel's right to self-defence: firstname.lastname@example.org
