Feeling nostalgic - think this was the first I heard of them, and it blew me away on late night radio in those days. It's not as great now, but I have a soft spot for it.
This one I still love, though. Great title, and I love overlapping harmonies - not that they actually do on reflection - oh well.
And this, thanks to 'glo for locating the video for this one!
and to end with a bit of frippery x 2. One is amateur vid and one live, I'm afraid

Ah, yes. Nothing like 60 or so drunken college students crowded in a dark frat house, spilling beer left and right, jumping up and down in lieu of dancing and trying to sing along: "mumble, mumble, mumble, LEON-ARD BERN-STEIN, mumble, mumble, mumble." Hee, that takes me back!
Watching these I remember that Stipe refused to lip-synch for ages (until ... Out of Time?). I still really love Talk About the Passion (prob. Murmur all up but I haven't heard it for years).
My parents had the S&G album with Anji, I always loved it & WGAGTGB. The sleeve had the lyrics to all except the latter song (and Anji obviously). Instead they substituted the phrase: "Just for fun." I thought maybe they were a little embarrassed. S&G started out as bubblegum rock'n'rollers didn't they? Tom & Jerry or something. Still love the riff, which I've long thought would make a great sample for someone. Always makes me want to get a groovy thing going.
